Beth’s Bio
Beth A. Lazazzera is a microbiologist who has been an arrived at UCLA in 1999 and was promoter to associate professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics in 2007. Dr. Lazazzera earned her B.S. in Microbiology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her Ph.D. in Bacteriology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her doctoral work advanced our understanding of the mechanism by which E. coli cells sense oxygen. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she began her work on bacterial communication, having identified a novel mechanism for bacterial cell-to-cell signaling.

Stephy’s Bio
Stephy graduated from University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor’s of Art in International Studies – Economics. She manages all contract and grant activities, including monthly reconciliation and distribution of general ledgers. Oversees all cost transfers, including expense and salary transfers, responsibility for the completion and submission of all proposals. On her spare time she enjoys traveling and working out.

Dai’s Bio
Dai graduated from CSU Fullerton with Master of Science and University of San Francisco with Bachelor of Art. He have a passion for education, social justice, diversity and inclusion, identity-based work, equity, and access. In his spare time, he run a book blog and a book Instagram where he highlight LGBTQ+ books as well as diverse young adult books. His goals when working with students are to inspire, empower, and challenge students to engage in all aspects of their learning and create a college experience that they want. He is here to help students learn how to advocate for themselves and their needs in and outside of the classroom, and learn how to navigate the university.
